Mr. Marek Maly (Director at Eurogate Czech Republic) states; "Established in 1990, our family-run, professional business is dedicated to delivering high-quality, competitively-priced services. Our award-winning team's expertise and local country knowledge as well as strategically located offices allows us to run a seamless international operation. We are proud to work for a range of different industries and companies from world-renowned multinationals to micro businesses.

Over the last 25 years, we have built up a wealth of project shipping experience in the oil & gas, manufacturing, construction, power & energy, mining and telecoms industries. From mines and oil fields to telecoms projects, we've carried cargo ranging from building components and out-of-gauge machinery to vehicles and critical express shipments. Our specialist project teams are ideally placed to service even the most remote corners of the world and we are experts when it comes to moving out-of-gauge cargo. Our partners and customers can depend on our reliable, competitively-priced services and a complete range of solutions, underpinned by our ISO accredited procedures. We offer project cargo, OOG & heavy lift, sea freight (FCL & LCL), road transport (full trucks & groupage), airfreight, rail, intermodal, chartering, customs services, cargo insurance, project planning, technical drawing, documentation and permits."

Photographed in the gallery below is a recent project handled by Eurogate in the Czech Republic. The cargo was shipped on FCL terms from Shanghai (China) via Hamburg Port in Germany and delivered to Chocen (Czech Republic) in 3 x 40'HC & 1 x 40'FR. Details of the OOG pieces were as follows:

  • 2.88 x 2.46 x 1.31m (gross weight: 10.8tns)
  • 3.59 x 1.61 x 2.89m (gross weight: 1.4tns)
  • 4.26 x 2.32 x 1.61m (gross weight: 11.9tns)

Due to the over-dimensional pieces, the cargo was reloaded in Hamburg onto trucks by cranes and transported onto the Czech Republic. Marek explains; "The cargo was poorly packaged by the shipper and due to heavy rains in Hamburg, the boxes were soaked. Therefore, it was necessary to ensure that the load on the chassis was re-packed and additionally secured to ensure the goods were not damaged as the original packaging was no longer sufficiently stable. Even though these challenges were faced, the shipment was delivered to the customers warehouse on time."

Eurogate Logistics provided a professional service and up-to-date communication. The consignee and the shipper were well-informed at every stage on each development and changes. The customer was especially thankful and positive for the adjustments made by Eurogate to prevent any damage.
