Project Cargo for the Oil & Gas Industry to the UAE
FLS-KAA recently handled a shipment for the oil and gas industry consisting of 1,700cbm of project cargo from Iraq to Jebel Ali, UAE. The consignment comprised of 10 mobile units, including cranes, cement machinery, a logging truck and trailers as well as 40 skids. Organised on a re-export basis, FLS-KAA obtained permits from various authorities, arranged the overland transport from the project site to Umm Qasr port and completed inspections. The shipment was then loaded on board a multipurpose vessel chartered by FLS-KAA's parent company and shipped to Jebel Ali Free Zone, where the cargo was placed in temporary storage.
Shipment of Pipes from the UAE
FLS-KAA and their parent company coordinated the shipment of 21,000tns of cement-coated pipes from the UAE to Iraq. The consignment, which also included an 80tn unit of equipment measuring 12.0 x 4.5 x 4.5m, was shipped on board a breakbulk vessel operated by Empros Lines (for which the parent company of FLS-KAA is the exclusive agent in the Middle East). FLS-KAA organised all import formalities including duty exemption, customs clearance and onward transportation to the Iraqi job site.
Caravans Move from the UAE
250 caravans, each measuring 12 x 4 x 3m, were recently delivered from Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah (UAE) to 2 project sites in Iraq. The units were shipped in 3 lots from the UAE to Iraq's Umm Qasr port on board a breakbulk vessel. FLS-KAA performed the customs clearance on arrival and transported the caravans overland to sites in Basra and Baghdad.
