EZ Link Taiwan Deliver Wind Turbine Gearboxes

PCN members, EZ Link Taiwan have handled 2 sets of wind turbine gearboxes via RORO vessel from Zeebrugge Port in Belgium to Taichung Port in Taiwan.
Each gearbox had dimensions of 4.25 x 3.70 x 3.40m and a weight of 64,000kg. The EZ Link project team supervised the seamless operations and all procedures including rigging with the correct working load limits.
Unlashing cargo from the MAFI and loading onto low-bed trailers by a 350tn mobile crane at shipside. EZ Link arranged the length of spread beams to match the exact width of the cargo so the slings hung as vertically as possible to load on and off in a straight, vertical direction.
With connection pad eyes mounted on the gearboxes and shackles in lifting points, all open holes had to be sealed with waterproof tape as the cargo is highly susceptible to corrosion.
Careful lashing and securing had to be applied on the truck for inland haulage transportation.
Throughout the inland haulage from shipside to the client's warehouse, the EZ Link project team accompanied the 2 trucks to monitor the safe delivery.
