Farcont Manage Delivery of Mobile Crane from Antwerp to Kiev

Farcont Project have managed the multimodal delivery of a Liebherr mobile crane from Antwerp in Belgium to Kiev, Ukraine.
The transport weight of the main chassis of the crane was 75tn plus 43tn of counterweights. To optimise transportation costs, the expert team at Farcont selected the route via Gdynia Port in Poland using a RORO service and subsequent transshipment to a modular low-loader trailer for the main chassis and standard FTL transport for the counterweights.
CEO at Farcont, Yuriy Kovalenko comments; "The main challenge of the project was created by the RORO carrier, who unexpectedly split the lot by unloading the crane chassis at an intermediate port due to operation issues. Therefore, we had to very quickly organise cargo consolidation at Gdynia, delivery to Ukraine, and a swift import customs clearance in order to meet the required deadlines of the road transport permits."
