Hacklin Logistics Join Nordic Chartering as Shareholder

Hacklin expands its scope of business in the logistics sector with the acquisition of a considerable stake in the Finnish short sea operator Nordic Chartering.

Hacklin is a family-owned company established in the Port of Pori, Finland, back in 1908. Since then, the Hacklin Group has grown into a global service provider offering versatile freight forwarding and logistics services. Today, Hacklin is specialised in project cargo, freight forwarding, and warehousing services in Finland as well as efficient logistics solutions in bulk handling. In the past, Hacklin has also been a shipowner, investing in its first vessel over 100 years ago.

Nordic Chartering is a privately owned Finnish short sea operator established in 2003. Since the start, the company has operated with own tonnage and time-chartered vessels between 3000 – 5000 DWCC. All vessels are Ice Classed to secure operations all year round between the Baltic Sea and Western Europe.

For over 20 years, Nordic Chartering has been operating regular timber sailings from the Baltic Sea to Ireland. They are also specialised in part cargo operations and together with its strategic partners, part cargo can be loaded in the Baltic Sea to Western Europe and the Mediterranean.

"This will create a strong partnership between the companies and bring added value for our customers. Hacklin joining as a shareholder in Nordic Chartering will also build a strong foundation for future vessel investments. The companies are working in different logistics sectors and will continue working under their own brand."
