KGE Baltic Nominated for Pipe Transport to Kazakhstan

KGE Baltic are glad to share an interesting and challenging multimodal project. They were nominated to handle the sea freight and land transportation of 10 pieces of loose pipes to Atyrau in Kazakhstan via Poti, Georgia.

Each of the 10 pipes measured 11.9 x 1.67 x 1.67m and weighed 11tn. The total transit time was around 45-50 days including transit clearance.

The pipes were transported with 5 open flat-bed trucks from Jebel Ali to an open-yard warehouse for transloading into open-top containers for the ocean freight. The cargo went through inspection and other procedures and proceeded with shipping to Poti.

They were then loaded onto tilt trucks and continued by land transportation and RORO shipping via Azerbaijan to the final destination of Atyrau, Kazakhstan.

"KGE does about 65% of our cargo movements via Multimodal transport through Azerbaijan to avoid restricted countries. The challenge was to shorten the transit time of the cargo by sea and we encountered challenges due to adverse weather during winter time. So we had to plan our transportation accordingly to the strict requirements from the client to reach the destination within the given time. We provided the customer with complete daily tracking and monitored the whole shipment which resulted in satisfactory feedback."

Once again, KGE handled this project with complete professionalism. They were tasked to deliver the goods timely and faced challenges along the way, but they managed to succeed.
