Marinetrans Complete Transportation of Heavy Heater Module
2nd July 2025

Marinetrans was responsible for the planning and execution of a major transport operation involving a 280-ton water heater module.
The unit was moved from a private yard in Dubai and successfully delivered to a shipyard, where it was lifted onboard a vessel.
The scope of work included redesigning the base of the module to allow for two modes of transport: either by SPMTs or lifting.
This flexibility was essential, as the project's tight timeline and high urgency meant Marinetrans could not rely on a limited selection of available barges or vessels.
The final load-out was completed using SPMTs to move the module to the quayside, where it was lifted onto the vessel using heavy-lift vessel cranes.
At short notice, the grillage design was modified to accommodate last-minute changes to the module’s footprint.
The operation was completed without any delays or technical issues. The module was delivered to the shipyard ahead of schedule and within the original budget.
Through innovative engineering and strategic planning, Marinetrans achieved nearly 30% cost savings compared to the initial budget.
These savings were ultimately passed on to their loyal, long-term client.
"We’re proud to have delivered a seamless and efficient solution under pressing circumstances - meeting urgency with flexibility and technical excellence."
