MGL Cargo Services, in collaboration with fellow PCN member, BATI, have successfully delivered a highly sophisticated and challenging OOG land freight project involving the transportation of 5 shutters on 5 extendable low-bed trailers from Egypt to Oman.

Each of the 5 shutters have dimensions of 28.0 x 3.4 x 4.9m and a weight of 49tn.

The scope of work from MGL Cargo Services included:

• Customs clearance in Egypt & border crossings,
• Land freight transportation,
• In-transit handling & full documentation management.

The key challenges overcome for the project include:

• Complex customs clearance procedures in Egypt,
• Special ferry loading plan due to OOG dimensions,
• X-ray inspection at Dubaa Port requiring special approvals due to the over-height cargo,
• Securing special road permits & regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions.

Despite the numerous challenges and operational obstacles throughout the journey, the project was completed successfully thanks to strong teamwork, detailed planning, and close collaboration among all stakeholders.
