Polaris UAE Report Emergency Rotor Shipment to Iraq

The Polaris Projects Team, the specialised project logistics division of Polaris Shipping Agencies in the UAE have successfully executed the emergency transportation of a 41.550mt rotor to Umm Qasr, Iraq, overcoming significant operational challenges.
Director at Polaris, Rajesh Damodaran explains; "The shipment, originally moving under CIF terms from Shanghai, China, was unexpectedly terminated by the original carrier while the vessel was still in the Far East. Due to the ongoing circumstances, the carrier intended to discharge the cargo at an alternative port of their choice.
At this critical stage, Polaris Projects was entrusted with finding a practical and time-sensitive solution. Leveraging our long-standing relationship with the carrier, our team successfully negotiated the discharge of the cargo at Port Jebel Ali in the UAE, enabling Polaris to take full control of the operation and ensure uninterrupted delivery to the destination in Iraq."
The cargo, measuring 10.00 x 2.20 x 2.30m and weighing 41.550mt, was carefully received at the Polaris warehouse before being expertly prepared for the onward sea voyage. In close coordination with the vessel operators, the rotor was professionally stuffed and securely lashed onto a heavy-duty flat-rack container, taking into consideration the substantial cargo weight, additional slot loss requirements, vessel stowage limitations, and operational constraints at both Port Jebel Ali and Port Umm Qasr.
Following arrival in Iraq, the cargo was safely discharged using additional heavy-lift equipment especially arranged for the operation and transferred onto a suitable trailer for the final inland transportation. The shipment was successfully delivered within the agreed emergency delivery schedule, ensuring continuity of the client's project.
