SMTI Receive 14 Transformers at Gabes Port in Tunisia

Last month, SMTI in Tunisia received another shipment of 2,000tn of cargo at Gabes Port, to be used for the maintenance and improvement of various power substations.
Among other heavy and OOG cargo, as well as general cargo, the shipment included 14 transformers.
- 1 x 113.5tn transformer
- 11 x 65tn transformers
- 2 x 48tn transformers
SMTI's hydraulic modular and lowbed trailers, experienced in-field team, as well as their project management and engineering professionals, were well prepared to handle and manage the entire scope of port operations, from under-hook receiving to transfer and storage inside the Port of Gabes.
Exceptional Transport Director, Mohamed Amine Ben Hadj Brahim comments; "2026 got off to a heavy start for SMTI in Tunisia! Preparations and transport operations for the next step of this project are currently underway to ensure the cargo is delivered and dispatched safely and efficiently to eight different substations."
