Members in Panama, Upcargo are pleased to share details of their recent work from China.

Project Cargo & Operations Coordinator at Upcargo, Tania Rosales explains; "Thanks to the new diplomatic relations between Panama and China, since June 2017, the trade and logistics in Panama has been gradually opening doors to companies of Chinese origin that are working on the construction of natural gas plants, electric plants, hydroelectric plants, bridges and port terminals etc."

"Upcargo is very close to some of these companies established in Panama, providing logistics services in project and special cargo. Since June 2018, we have been providing integral logistics and solutions for the new project, 'Terminal de Cruceros de Amador', on the pacific side."

"Our works involves port inspections, route inspections, studies of cargo diagrams, transport of oversized cargo, heavy cargo, reception of vessels, day and night work, coordination with ports, special escorts, cargo insurance, customs procedures for temporary importation and exoneration, plus much more. Recent work has included:

  • Local trucking for a disassembled crawler crane (Sany, Model 260T) - 40 units at 499.514tns / 1,124.754cbm.
  • Cargo reception of MV. BBC Ursa at Balboa Port and coordination of internal transportation involving 17 hours of continuous work in port. The cargo included a disassembled jack-up platform (250T) - 39 units at 433.90tns / 1,657.13cbm.
  • Internal trucking at Balboa Port of 4 spuds (cylinders). They were moved from internal yard at the port to the pier in order to be installed on the platform on water. Each one had a length of 36m and a weight of 42tns.
  • Local trucking for a disassembled crawler crane (Zoomlion, Model 130T) - 23 units at 120.421tns / 359.467cbm."
