2017 Annual Summit in Prague

2017 Annual Summit in Prague
2017 Annual Summit in Prague

Our 7th Annual Summit takes place from 19-21 November 2017 in Prague, regarded as one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, the stylish capital of the Czech Republic is brimming with grand historical and cultural sights.

We look forward to welcoming almost 190 CEOs and Senior Managers from 80+ countries (see Meeting Brochure)

Heavy lift and project cargo specialists from all major world markets will be attending our conference which consists of a City Tour, Welcome Gala Dinner, Guest Speaker, Special Guest from HLPFI, Dinner Excursion and 1-2-1 Business Meetings. See Agenda.

The PCN Head Office encourage all Members to be represented at our annual gatherings as face-to-face meetings are integral in developing and maintaining business. Our past events have created many memories and together we have laid the foundation for many business partnerships - see our online albums.

PCN President, Rachel Humphrey says "We work together over long distances, across cultures and languages so it is not surprising that emails and IM often lead to misunderstandings. It is easy to forget just how important body language and facial expressions are in communicating.

"When you are all in the same room, it encourages Members to participate and ensures engagement. With over 20 years’ experience, I see time and time again that these gatherings prove to be fantastic catalysts for better business."

WELCOME RECEPTION & GALA DINNER

At 19:00 on Sunday 19 November you will be welcomed at the Foyer Pre-function Area with a glass of Prosecco and can collect your name badge and meet fellow delegates. We will then enjoy a Chef´s Choice Dinner Buffet which will include a selection of appetizers, a salad bar, soup of the day, main courses with meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian options. There will also be a wide selection of desserts, homemade ice-cream and sorbets and an international cheese selection. A Cymbalo band with traditional folk instruments will entertain us with arrangements of modern songs. The standing buffet dinner includes a Marriott Open Bar until 22:30.

GUEST SPEAKER: CMA CGM PROJECT CARGO DIVISION

Mr Kollatt Muhajiz, Business Development Manager for CMA CGM Project Cargo Division (exclusively for Break Bulk/Heavy lift on CMA CGM Global Fleet) will be our Guest Speaker, presenting the advantages of “Containerisation of Project & Heavy Lift Cargo” on the Monday morning. The session will cover the structure of CMA CGM Project Cargo division with examples of various bookings carried on their vessels including the heaviest containerized breakbulk piece at 457mt. The session will provide an insight to those who haven’t fully explored using container services for heavy lift and project cargo movements and will cover the operational feasibility depending upon the infrastructure capacity of the port and the region. Delegates will also be able to pre-book a 1-2-1 meeting with Mr Muhajiz when our Meeting Manager opens in October (subject to availability).

DINNER EXCURSION

Our evening dinner excursion will be to Kolkovna Celnice, a local restaurant that accentuates the pride in the long and famous tradition of Czech beer brewing. Owned by the Pilsner brewery, the venue is decorated with period photos and brewing equipment. We will enjoy camembert cheese on white toast with cranberries, toasted almonds and rocket salad followed by grilled chicken with steamed broccoli and baked jacket potato with chive sour cream and finishing with homemade rhubarb cake with almond crumble and mint sour cream. Accompanying our dinner will be traditional Czech beer, wine and soft drinks.

1-2-1 MEETINGS

All registered delegates gain access to our online Meeting Manager program, developed especially for PCN so that 20-minute business meetings can be arranged prior to arrival. During these important sessions, delegates are able to discuss current business, exchange information and investigate possible collaborations together. These crucial meetings provide an opportunity to review current and upcoming government and private projects in the manufacturing, oil and gas, infrastructure, construction, power and energy sectors among others.
